Devo Bike Fit Night Thursday

Devo Nation, this Thursday night at 6pm, David Farmer, Rotem Ishay and Joshua McDowell will be on hand to help with bike fits for the U14, U19 Explorers and Flyers Programs. Taking place at the Durango Rec Center, Devo has been doing this seasonally since 2008. Make sure and swing by if your kiddo has grown an inch or two. Happy Spring Devo!

Osprey and Devo Piggyback

Rally for Betsy at the Embassy this Wednesday

MARK YOUR CALENDAR! On Wednesday 4/3 there will be a fundraiser for Betsy Richards! At the Irish Embassy Pub 5 – 8PM!
There will be lots of very cool bike related items, gift certificates for local restaurants, lodging, services, etc. There will be live music and fun!

UPDATE: The organizers have collected 100+ items which is WONDERFUL! However, please, do not donate any more items! If you can donate cash please contact Greg or Barb or come to the party with fistfuls of cash!

Devo Coaches Seminar This Saturday

This Saturday at Fort Lewis College the Devo coaches from Push Bike, to Explorers, will meet from 9am to Noon to discuss the art of youth cycling instruction. Devo has over 40 coaches, from ages 14-50. If you are interested in coaching with Devo, give us a jingle. Get ready for a good season of cycling.

This is impressive. Wish we could get this Wheelie Professor for the Devo Wheelie University on March 30th at the Durango County Fairgrounds from 10-2pm.

Devo Hires New Wiggly Intern Chops

He’s just a puppy, but we think he will help the young Devo’s this season in the art of wiggle. He will accompany the athletes on several trips this season and is sure to make some smiles occur along the way. Meet Chops!

Snowdown Chapman Hill Downhill this Super Bowl Sunday

This event is now a single slalom course event. Basically one rad, turny dh-ish course down Chapman Hills snow covered slalom and 4cross courses of the past. An open practice period with an option of timing your runs will be followed by a qualifying run for each rider. Then for the finals, riders in each category will get one run with the fastest qualifying rider starting last. Should make for some fun nail biting action!

All bikes are allowed, skinny or fat.
Its Snowdown, so geek out if you want.

Registration will be from 10:00 – 11:59 AM right next to the Chapman Skating Rink. Event cost is …. FREE. Riders will need to wear a helmet and sign 2 waivers.

Schedule:
10:00 – 11:00 AM – Open course for practice
11:00 – 11:50 AM – Practice and option of timed runs
12:00PM Rider meeting
12:10 PM (Noon) – Qualifying and Finals
4:00PM Super Bowl 49ers 34 Ravens 31 (prediction by chad)

Bring snow shovel for course work if interested. Coursework will be allowed until Noon.

Bring your own Hot Chocolate, or use the concession at the Chapman Rink. Water and Bathrooms included

Prize will be awarded on site for someone who promises create a short video edit!

City Seeks Comments on Horse Gulch Open Space Management Plan

Durango, CO: The City of Durango is seeking comments from the public on the Horse Gulch
Open Space Management Plan. The draft Management Plan provides a framework for the
sound stewardship of the Horse Gulch open space area and is available for review on the City’s
website at durangogov.org and by clicking on Hot Topics.
Horse Gulch is part of a large open space and recreational area that includes public lands
owned by the City of Durango, La Plata County, and the Bureau of Land Management. This
entire landscape encompasses more than 3,600 acres and includes the Telegraph, Raider
Ridge and Horse Gulch Trail System – an approximately 60-mile natural surface single track trail
network used exclusively for non-motorized recreation.
Public comments on the draft Management Plan are encouraged and should be submitted in
writing by email to rec@durangogov.org by January 31, 2013. For additional information,
