Cross Race in Aztec

Aztec-Results

The Fort Lewis Cycling Cyclocross series is halfway over this weekend with Sundays action in Aztec. This is the second year of the local race and it sound like it will be of similar design. There is a lot of lush grass, fast bmx course, and weaving in and out of the trees. The races begin at 10am with the A Women and B men and at 11am for the A men and 45+ men. This is a great spectator course.10 FC CX Series Flyer

Sweet Fall Junior DEVO Season

Jr DEVO Halloween Ride Was So Spooky

SO Spooky!
SO Spooky!

It was a great ending to a crazy weather season for the Fall Junior DEVO sessions. We’d like to thank all the riders for riding their bikes, all the coaches for keeping it fun and all the parents for their support. Have a nice lingering fall, and get ready for some snow!

Animas High Ospreys Head to State Champs

The Animas High Osprey’s are heading off to state championships this weekend in Elbert, Colorado at the Peaceful Valley Boy Scout Ranch. We are taking 12 athletes  to the final event of the inaugural Colorado High School MTB league season. We are currently in 6th place in the team standings out of 20 teams. There will also be 1 or 2 athletes from DHS attending as independent racers, as DHS does not have a formal team this season. The league has been very successful in its first year as it has averaged over 170 racers per event. A typical summer Mountain States Cup race or large regional race will tend to average 25-35 per event. This new junior racing program in the state will have a huge effect on Colorado’s future junior cycling development as it is a great non-intimidating introduction to the sport.race information

The pace is chill and the main objective of the ride is to set out in search of treats. The ride will be led by Devo coaches and is going to be super fun. Hope to see ya there!

Way to Go Howard

DEVO U19er Howard Grotts has done it again in 2010, adding his 2nd and 3rd national championship jersey to his collection. Howard racing for the Colorado School of Mines, where he is a freshman, won the Division 2 Cross Country and Short Track in dominant fashion last weekend at the National Championships at the Northstar Bike Resort near Truckee, California. Congratulations Howard!
