Animas High Ospreys Head to State Champs

The Animas High Osprey’s are heading off to state championships this weekend in Elbert, Colorado at the Peaceful Valley Boy Scout Ranch. We are taking 12 athletes  to the final event of the inaugural Colorado High School MTB league season. We are currently in 6th place in the team standings out of 20 teams. There will also be 1 or 2 athletes from DHS attending as independent racers, as DHS does not have a formal team this season. The league has been very successful in its first year as it has averaged over 170 racers per event. A typical summer Mountain States Cup race or large regional race will tend to average 25-35 per event. This new junior racing program in the state will have a huge effect on Colorado’s future junior cycling development as it is a great non-intimidating introduction to the sport.race information
