Way to Go Howard

DEVO U19er Howard Grotts has done it again in 2010, adding his 2nd and 3rd national championship jersey to his collection. Howard racing for the Colorado School of Mines, where he is a freshman, won the Division 2 Cross Country and Short Track in dominant fashion last weekend at the National Championships at the Northstar Bike Resort near Truckee, California. Congratulations Howard!

Animas High Ospreys!

Four Animas High Ospreys and one team Mom headed up to Tabernash last weekend to take on round 2 of the inagrual Colorado High School Mtb Series and walked away with a 6th place team finish. India Waller and Robin Austin lead the team in scoring to secure the sweet team placing. Check out the results here.

The longest running mountain bike race in the lower 48 is still racing strong. This popular local event saw over 15 Devo athletes and parents having a good time managing the endless rhythm section. Nice work representing!

FLC Nationals Team and Devo

The Fort Lewis College Cycling team has announced today its 2011 national championships team to compete in Truckee, California in 2 weeks. Durango Devo athlete Taylor Borucki, past Devo U19er Kaila Hart and Devo Coaches Annie Cheeney and Lucas Lemaire all made the 15 person squad. Fort Lewis College is currently ranked the number 1 cycling college after coming off a 3rd place team finish at Track Nationals last month. Men; Rotem Ishay, Jack Hinkens, Colton Andersen, Trevor Downing, Nate Byrom, Sam Stevens, Taylor Borucki, Lucas LeMaire. Women; Sage Wilderman, Kaila Hart, Lauren Catlin, Sarah Sturm, Nathalie Krantz, Anne Cheeney, Chantel Coleman.

MTB Movie at the Abbey Tonight, 6 & 8pm

Ride the Divide an award-winning feature-length documentary about the world?s longest mountain bike race, continues its debut tour when it drops in on Durango for two shows on Tuesday, October 5 at the Abbey Theater  at 6 and 8 p.m. at the Abbey Theatre. Wells Brothers Cyclocross on Sunday

Sunday brings the towns first Cyclocross race up at Durango Mountain Resort, benefitting the Get Out team. Durango Coca-Cola will also be on hand to congratulate the town of Durango's National Championship winners from this seasons race in Sol Vista.

Road Apple is Saturday

With Road Apple comes the realization that it is October already. This saturday marks the 1 millionth running of the classic desert mountain bike cross country race. It is a legendary race.  As all the areas stars of past and present have made the 45 minute voyage south to take on the rolling power track. Click here to get the event information.
